Trial Kindles

The Amazon Kindle is a wireless reading device that is lighter and thinner than a paperback, but can hold hundreds of books, newspapers, magazines, blogs and other types of content. The device uses cell phone technology to connect to the Internet, and can download entire books in a few minutes.

Policy

A Kindle maybe  checked out from the Information Desk in Leyburn Library for short term trial use.

  • Replacement or repair costs related to lost or damaged Kindle may be charged to the user or their department based on the specific circumstances of the incident.
  • Kindles are personalized and you need to deregister the account name before returning.

Why do we say trial use?

The content is purchased for the Kindle using your personal Amazon account. Materials purchased through Amazon for the Kindle are readable ONLY on the Kindle, so users should take this into account when borrowing a device from the library.
