Sororities

The University has eight national sororities including two historically black Greek sororities.

    The mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity and friendship among college women, maintain a progressive interest in college life, solve and alleviate problems as they pertain to women and girls, and to be of service to all mankind.

    The purpose of Delta Sigma Theta is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s five point thrust: economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, political awareness and involvement.
