Washington and Lee junior Robert Womble (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) has been selected the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for the week ending Oct. 12.
Womble helped lead W&L to a third-place finish out of 12 teams at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational on Monday and Tuesday by placing second overall out of 63 golfers. Womble notched a two-day score of 74-76--150 and finished just two strokes behind individual champion, Matt Wagner of Christopher Newport.
For the season, Womble leads the Generals with a 76.3 stroke average over four rounds played.
W&L returns to action on Sunday as it participates in the two-day McDaniel Invitational.
