    Research Interests: Group processes and social psychology. I am interested in how organizational task and work structures can impact intragroup impressions and processes, such as the development of intragroup cooperation, solidarity, status hierarchies, and the formation/enhancement of social stereotypes. I am interested in how social structure influences the interplay between individuals and groups.

    Research Interests: My work focuses on the anthropology of emotion in a variety of geographical and historical contexts. From investigating practices of mourning and grief in Azerbaijan to analyzing the delight and terror of homeplace in Antebellum Virginia, I view emotion as a story -- a narrative told about self and society, as well as a discourse about interpersonal connections.

    Research interests: I am interested in the anthropological analysis of property ownership and land use as seen through the lens of production, exchange and consumption. My research on the woodland period and early history of Virginia hopes to better understand the intersection of peoples’ lives with the broader Atlantic world. I specialize in using the physical sciences, quantitative methods and mapping equipment/software for the analysis of archaeological deposits, cultural landscapes and environmental transformation.
