A nonprofit, Christian housing organization working in partnership with people in need, to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.

A campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity is a student-led, student-initiated organization on a high school or college campus that partners with the local Habitat affiliate to build, fundraise, advocate and educate to support the work of Habitat for Humanity.

The Washington and Lee University chapter of Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to facilitating the construction of homes for those in need in the Rockbridge County area.  We work alongside the Rockbridge County Habitat for Humanity chapter and provide our volunteer assistance in various ways throughout the process of home-building, including both the raising of funds for home construction and actual labor on the sites themselves.

HABITAT HOTEL

This is the Washington and Lee University chapter's most successful fundraiser, which takes place over Parents and Family Weekend. Local Lexington residents, including faculty and staff of Washington and Lee, donate rooms in their homes to house parents and families who have difficulty finding hotel reservations for the weekend. To find out more information about Habitat Hotel, or how to register for this Parents' Weekend, contact Laura Beth Ellis at ellisl14@mail.wlu.edu or 404-580-9653.
