Fall (on the Gauley - Guaranteed High Water Dam Releases!) Each September, when they pull the plug on Summersville Dam, the Gauley River becomes the epicenter of the whitewater world. Thousands of adventurers from literally around the world flock to West Virginia for the sport's most challenging runs. For 22 glorious days, over a million gallons of water per minute rush down the Gauley's steep, rocky riverbed and we all get to enjoy North America's most intense and exciting river experience.the Fall Gauley!
