FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - - Senior Katie Tabb (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) paired with junior Lauren Caire (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) to capture the title in the main doubles draw of the Wilson ITA Southeast Regional Women’s Tennis Championships on Monday afternoon. Caire and Tabb defeated Mary Washington’s pairing of senior Becky Morse-Karzen and sophomore Megan Lawlor, 8-5, in the final.

With the win, Tabb and Caire advance to play in the ITA Small College Championships, to be held Oct. 16-19 in Mobile, Alabama.

Tabb came close to winning the singles title as well. In attempting to defend her title from a year ago, Tabb advanced to the finals before ultimately falling to Carnegie Mellon’s Laura Chen 6-4, 6-1.

In the “blue” draw, four Generals advanced to the semis and they will be played on Tuesday in Lexington. First-year Laura Pattilo (Atlanta, Ga./Marist) will take on junior Katie Harris (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine’s) in one semifinal, while Catherine Reed (St. Louis, Mo./MICDS) will face off against first-year Ashley Leinweber (Bloomfield Hills, Mi./Cranbrook) in the other.

The Generals next hit the court when they travel to Hollins to take part in the ODAC individual championships beginning on Oct. 10.
