Undergraduate Admissions

Our students often say that they knew Washington and Lee was the right college for them upon first strolling along the historic Colonnade, down the same brick sidewalk that W&L students have walked for almost two centuries. The Colonnade represents both W&L's past and its future - in coming years, each of its buildings will undergo state of the art renovations, including Washington Hall, the oldest standing structure on our campus (completed in 1824, seventy-five years after our founding in 1749).

Other students are drawn to W&L by the scenic beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. They find in Washington and Lee a challenging and personal academic community, along with striking opportunities for outdoor recreation and study. The beautiful Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains are visible from any vantage point on our campus and frame many students' academic and recreational pursuits on and off campus.

Perhaps you will "just know" when you have stepped onto the perfect campus for you. And perhaps W&L is that perfect campus. We invite you to find out by visiting and exploring all that W&L and Lexington, Virginia have to offer.
