The Washington and Lee men's swimming team has climbed to eighth in the latest Division III rankings released by CollegeSwimming.com.

The Generals amassed 433 points in the poll and rank behind Denison (680), Kenyon (672), Johns Hopkins (638), Emory (605), Williams (527), Washington University (517) and St. Olaf (468). After W&L, DePauw (413) and Carthage (343) round out the Top 10.

Washington and Lee enters the winter break with a perfect 7-0 dual meet record and is coming off an impressive showing in the NIKE Kenyon Open in which Generals' swimmers notched two NCAA "A" cut times and eight NCAA "B" cut times.

Senior Alex Sweet (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) headlined the performances with automatic qualifying times and school records in the 50 free (20.43) and 100 free (45.04). Both times are the second-fastest in Division III this season.

Washington and Lee returns to action on January 12 as it hosts Wingate and Marymount for a double-dual at 1:00 pm.
