Need Based Aid
Returning students receiving need-based grant assistance must re-apply each year. The application includes the CSS PROFILE, parent and student 2009 tax returns, FAFSA, and other relevant tax documents (see below for details.) Please complete your 2009 tax returns before submitting the Profile or FAFSA. To avoid any delay in processing your aid a complete financial aid application should be on file in the Financial Aid office by June 1, 2010.
The complete need-based financial aid application includes:
College Scholarship Service PROFILE
Non Custodial Parent (NCP) Form (if relevant)
Business/Farm Supplement (if relevant)
Parent and Student Federal Tax Returns
Special Financial Circumstances (if relevant)
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
College Scholarship Service PROFILE
Non-Custodial PROFILE
Caution—The Non-custodial PROFILE is not optional. Complete the Non-Custodial PROFILE at least one week prior to deadline to allow time for the document to reach Washington and Lee. Contact the Washington and Lee University Financial Aid Office at tel. (540) 458-8716 if submission presents problems. Carefully determine which parent is custodial by reading the PROFILE instructions.
