Covenant House of West Virginia is dedicated to working for justice by offering direct services for people in need while creating social change through advocacy and education. In 1981 Covenant House began as a drop-in center to serve the city's homeless and working poor, and it now runs multiple programs serving 22 southern West Virginia counties. The Drop-In Center remains the heart of our organization with a daily average of 80men, women and children entering the front doors looking for a safe place to rest. The Drop-In Center is a safe space for those living in homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Showering and laundry facilities are available, as well as free telephone and mail service. Staff is on-site throughout the day offering crisis intervention and emergency assistance with rent and utilities.
