Bread for the City was established in the mid-1970s out of concern for the homeless, the hungry and the needy of the District of Columbia. Today, Bread for the City provides vulnerable residents of Washington, DC, with comprehensive services including food, clothing, medical care, legal and social services. Each month, more than 10,000 individuals are helped by the organization’s food and clothing services, and the medical, legal and social services clinics care for more than 2,000 individuals each year.
