Self-Assessment Tools

Unsure of your interests and how they could relate to your career plans? If you are struggling with career direction or are confused about your choice of major, these inventories and assessments can help you gain a better understanding of your interests, values, and personality.

FOCUS (online)

Use this online tool at your convenience. Focus provides you with a complete picture of your interests, values, personality, skills, and leisure activities using self-assessment questionnaires and personality testing. The system searches its career and occupational information database to help you identify and analyze occupations and career paths that match your personal characteristics. Please email us to obtain the access code in order to create an account.

You will need to talk with someone in the Career Development Center before taking the Strong in order to get login information, and you will also have to schedule an in-person interpretation of the results for both. Please stop by during Quick Questions.

STRONG INTEREST INVENTORY

Take the Strong to help clarify your interests in a variety of different areas including jobs, school subjects, activities, leisure activities and types of people. Your results on the Strong will enable you to explore how your interests relate to potential career choices, as well as give you some insight into your work style and preferred work environment.
