Cable Startup Tips
If you ordered Cable TV during the summer, your cable wall jack is already activated.
Having trouble with your Cable TV? Here are some problem solving tips:
- If you have a VCR hooked up with your TV, unhook it and work directly with the TV until you resolve the problem.
- Check the wire that connects your TV to the wall jack. (You must provide this wire -- available at the Bookstore, Wal Mart, etc.). Make sure this cable is connected properly to both the TV and the wall jack and that the ends of the thin wire inside this cable are not bent over.
If you are receiving Channels 2 - 13 but none of the upper channels, follow this procedure:
- Activate the MENU settings of your TV set
- Scroll through menu selections until you find a TV/ANTENNA/CABLE setting (or something similar)
- Change this setting to CABLE or CATV.
- After setting to CATV, use the AUTO PROGRAM feature to automatically find the channels.
If all efforts fail, read the manual with your TV. It can help you correct your problems.
