FAQ's

Q. Who may participate in one of the pre-orientation trips?
A. The Leading Edge programs are open only to incoming first-year and transfer students.

Q. I am an athlete and hope to participate in a fall sport--can I do both?
A. Fall sport athletes may not, at this time, participate in The Leading Edge programs due to conflicts with pre-season practices.

Q. What kind of limitations might prevent me from enjoying one of the  trips?
A. All new incoming students are encouraged to apply. Some programs have experience and fitness requirements, which will be stated on the application. Please register for programs with these factors in mind.

Q. How are applicants selected for each trip?
A. Selection is first-come/first-served. Every effort will be made to accommodate all applicants' preferences.

Q. How much does it cost to participate?
A. The Leading Edge Pre-Orientation program trips are heavily subsidized by the sponsoring departments. The remaining cost to each student is $200.
