FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Senior Katie Tabb’s (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) run to the semifinals of the ITA Southeast regional highlighted what has been a successful showing for W&L’s women’s tennis team at the ITA Southeast Regional, hosted by the University of Mary Washington.
Tabb defeated fellow General, first-year Ellen Yeatman (Little Rock, Ark./Central), in the quarterfinals of the Championship Flight to advance to Monday’s final day of play. Yeatman and Tabb were joined in the quarterfinals of the top flight by senior Meg Spalitta (New Orleans, La./Sacred Heart).
In the blue flight, W&L made a clean sweep as Generals occupy all four semifinal spots. First-year Laura Pattilo (Atlanta, Ga./Marist) will take on junior Katie Harris (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine’s) in one semifinal, while Catherine Reed (St. Louis, Mo./MICDS) will face off against first-year Ashley Leinweber (Bloomfield Hills, Mi./Cranbrook) in the other.
In doubles action Tabb teamed with junior Lauren Caire (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hill) to make it to the semifinals to be played later on Sunday evening.
W&L wraps up play beginning Monday morning.
