Washington and Lee University

“In the end, the defining characteristic of a Washington and Lee education is the student faculty relationship.” -- Kenneth P. Ruscio ’76, President

Washington and Lee’s benefactor and alumnus Gerry Lenfest ’53, ’55L has committed $33 million to an endowment in support of faculty compensation. It is a challenge gift. He will match what others, many his fellow alumni, contribute over the next few years to help Washington and Lee raise faculty compensation to the mean of salary packages offered by its peer schools.
