
The Shepherd Alliance places SHECP member students in eight-week, full-time summer internships with non-profit agencies across the eastern United States. The Shepherd Alliance maintains partnerships with organizations in the fields listed below.
We assess our partnerships each year, and new placements are under constant development. Shepherd Alliance staff maintains close contact with student participants and agency supervisors to ensure that interns serve in a responsible and productive manner. The Shepherd Alliance orientation introduces interns from different schools to one another and prepares them for challenges they will face over the course of their summer work. The closing conference provides the opportunity for participants to share experiences with one another and to discuss how the work has impacted their views on issues of domestic and international poverty.
