As anyone knows who has traveled abroad, it is an experience framed by sights, sounds, smells, and tastes. Of these, it is often only the sights which are easy to bring back and share, but even then, usually only in pale reflections of what the actual impact of that visionary moment was like. But we have asked our study abroad students, faculty and staff to try to share something of this experience with us upon their return through the best means possible - their photos. To highlight this, we inaugurated the W&L Study Abroad Photo Exhibit in Fall 2001.
Many students study, work and intern abroad as part of their academic career at Washington and Lee University. The Study Abroad Photo Exhibit is an opportunity for these students, as well as faculty and staff, to share their experiences with the Washington and Lee community. Often, the impact of studying abroad is difficult to put into words, but "pictures are worth a thousand words."
Any current student, faculty or staff, who has studied, worked or interned abroad while enrolled at Washington and Lee University is eligible to submit photos to the exhibit.
Congratulations to all of our participants!
