RE: EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
DATE: JANUARY 31, 2007
The Human Resources Department is pleased to announce that effective immediately all benefit eligible employees will have access to an employee assistance program known as HorizonCareLinkTM EAP. This benefit program is being offered by the University through a partnership between our long term disability provider, The Standard Insurance Company, and Horizon Behavioral Services, a subsidiary of Horizon Health Corporation.
The Employee Assistance Program allows employees and their family members to confidentially access professional counselors for a variety of personal, family or work-related issues such as: relationship and marital issues; child and adolescent issues; psychological issues; emotional issues; stress-related issues; grief and loss; drug and alcohol issues; legal and financial referrals; adoption resources; and other life changes.
Included in the service are: the HorizonCareLink website that houses all of the EAP service offerings and interactive assessment tools, a 24-hour member hotline for immediate consultation on pressing issues, up to three face-to-face counseling sessions per problem per year for the employee and family members with fully licensed professional counselors, a referral service to local resources and providers, educational guides and literature for issues of interest, legal consultation services for such things as will preparation and guidance on other minor legal issues, financial management consultation, and telephonic follow-ups to ensure that services are meeting the needs identified.
All services are confidential and are offered free to employees. Additional information regarding the EAP is posted on the HR website.
