Employee Tuition Assistance Program

TO: ALL EMPLOYEES
FROM: OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES
RE: EMPLOYEE TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Human Resources Office is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2007 regular, full-time employees will be able to request professional development funding through a new Employee Tuition Assistance program. The Tuition Assistance Program provides funding assistance to employees seeking to obtain an undergraduate college- level degree, attend educational courses not leading to a degree, or to obtain a work-related certification or license. The intent of the program is to benefit the employee at his or her current position, improve job skills or position the employee for advancement opportunities at the University. Tuition assistance cannot be used to offset the balance of the tuition remission program for employees taking classes for credit at W&L. Employees interested in beginning or continuing an undergraduate course of study should review the Professional Development Funding Program found on the HR website. All requests for funding will be reviewed in August, 2007.
