Internships and Awards

  • Chesapeake Bay Program Internships
    The Environmental Studies Program is pleased to announce it is offering student internship and research opportunities in Chesapeake Bay restoration and watershed ecology. These opportunities are offered in two forms: a stipend-only internship, and a research internship that includes stipend as well as generous budgets for travel and research costs.
  • A. Paul Knight Internship Program in Conservation
    Undergraduate and Law students interested in the environment from any major are eligible for the Knight Internship. The program is designed to fund projects that further the protection of the environment or provide ecologically sound outdoor recreational opportunities.

  • Earle Bates Prize in Environmental Studies
    The Earle Bates Prize in Environmental Studies is awarded to a graduating environmental studies student in honor of Earle Bates, a strong supporter of the Environmental Studies Program and a role model of environmental citizenship.
  • Morris K. Udall Undergraduate Scholarship
    The Morris K. Udall Scholarship and Excellence in National Environmental Policy Foundation awards 80 merit-based scholarships of up to $5,000 and 50 Honorable Mentions of $350 to college sophomores and juniors who have demonstrated outstanding potential and a commitment to pursuing careers related to the environment and/or Native American and Alaska Native college sophomores and juniors who have demonstrated outstanding potential and a commitment to careers related to tribal public policy or health care.
