Housing Lottery

Opens February 25, 2009

Beginning Wednesday, February 25, 2009 all rising sophomore, junior, and senior students are eligible to participate in the Housing Lottery. ALL sophomore students are required to live in University housing facilities, and all upper-division students are strongly encouraged to apply.

STEP 1: GET A LOTTERY NUMBER
Go to http://map1.ad.wlu.edu/lottery/Default.aspx to draw a randomly selected housing lottery number. Enter your ID number (without leading zeros) and W&L e-mail address and click Submit. You will receive a confirmation page via email with your lottery number and further instructions; PRINT THE E-MAIL.

STEP 2: ATTEND THE APPROPRIATE LOTTERY NIGHT

BRING 

  1. your student ID card
  2. your $150 housing deposit (Check or cash only, we do not have the option to transfer funds or swipe it home, so please make arrangements accordingly.)
  3. the confirmation e-mail showing your lottery number. The lottery number is only valid after payment of the housing deposit on lottery night.

ROOMMATES

Students who chose to live together in a room, suite or apartment should come together as a group with the student whose lottery number is lowest. The ENTIRE GROUP must be present and each member must bring their ID card, the housing deposit, and their confirmation email. I'm going to be studying abroad for the one term of 2009-2010. Are there specific directions for getting campus housing in my case?
You should participate in the lottery, pay the housing deposit, and select your room for the term(s) you will be on campus. Your room will remain empty while you are abroad. Your move-in date will be the weekend before your first on-campus term.

How do I choose a room?
Floorplans of Gaines suites are online under upper-division student housing. Woods Creek Floorplans may be viewed in the office of residential life, Commons 247. Each of the theme houses has their own Website and contact person:
