Baptist Student Union

Baptist Student Union (known nationally as Baptist Collegiate Ministries) is a Christian organization open to both W&L students and VMI cadets. We meet for dinner, prayer, and Bible study on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm at Manly Memorial Baptist Church. Through statewide programs, the group also attends and helps organize retreats, camps, etc. with the Augusta Baptist Association and the Virginia Baptist Association. Although associated with the Baptist church, the organization boasts members from all Christian denominations, and we welcome all students to join in the fellowship.

Generals' Christian Fellowship

Generals’ Christian Fellowship (GCF) is W&L’s inter-denominational Christian organization. We hold weekly fellowship meetings including praise worship and speakers on Sunday nights at 7:00 pm in the Elrod Commons 345. Small- group Bible studies and prayer groups also meet throughout the week.

Good Shepherd Lutheran College Group

We encourage regular participation in Sunday services and provide transportation to and from church. We welcome students who want to read, usher, or take an active role in church. We invite students to discuss personal issues with the pastor or with a counsel group.

Joyful Noise

Joyful Noise is a Christian organization committed to encourage and inspire members of the W&L campus and outside communities with the gospel experience by spreading the Word of God through song and dance. In the Fall of 1999 Dafnette Prothro helped to establish Joyful Noise as a way to bring the gospel experience to W&L’s campus. Joyful Noise offers an outlet for students through the praise and worship of God while exposing and engaging the W&L community in the experience of gospel music. Membership is open to all interested students and faculty.

Jude 24

A Christian Band to bring glory to God and Jesus Christ through music performance for college students at Washington and Lee and surrounding colleges, churches, and communities. Purpose is to create a non-threatening environment where everyone feels welcome, fostering friendships and fellowship, showcasing musical talent, and leading others in heartfelt worship.

Trinity United Methodist College Group

Trinity United Methodist Church provides a safe and stimulating atmosphere in which W&L and VMI students from many denominations and cultures explore issues of belief and opportunities for service. Trinity offers weekly Sunday school, choir, Sunday evening programs on contemporary issues (beginning with a free dinner), theology class, and service activities.
