WLSC Clients: Past and Present

WLSC has worked with a wide variety of clients since its inception.  Our clients have included local, national, and international non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses.

  • PIATAM - Researched camu camu production in Brazil and traveled to Manaus to work with the Brazilian organization
  • Rockbridge Choral Society - Created an organization structure and defined roles of all positions in the group.  Created a survey to uncover more ways to effectively market Choral Society events and increase concert patronage.
  • Horrible Hire - Revamped company's website and provided suggestions for the expansion of the product's capabilities
  • Valley Program for Aging Services - Determined the feasibility of taking personal care services in-house
  • TeraDact - Generated a social media strategy, conducted market research, and provided information on suggested areas of growth
  • LexRock Grows - Produced a cost-benefit analysis for local food hub
  • General Development Initiative - Created an organization structure to increase the sustainability of the student group
  • W&L Green Energy Initiative - Researched ways that W&L could affordably install green energy sources across campus.
  • W&L Transfer Pricing Analysis - Evaluated the current transfer pricing system at W&L.
  • W&L Sustainability Project - Developed a system of measurement to assess the impact of the W&L sustainability initiatives on alumni in their lives and careers.
  • Anne Sauder's "Grandpa's Sauce" - Drafted a business plan for a start-up company in Lexington which sells secret sauce that can be used on a wide variety of food items. 
  • Cocoa Mill - Formulated local and national marketing initiatives for this Lexington chocolate shop in order to increase the store's client base and revenue stream.
  • Instituto Piatam (a partner NGO in Brazil) - Created a comprehensive business plan to develop consumer products from malva and jute fibers grown by villagers in Nossa Senhora das Graças.
  • - Developed a strategic plan which aimed increase both the number of unique visitors to the site and brand loyalty to amongst current users by modernizing the website, adding additional features, creating user profile, and through an ad campaign.
  • American Accounting Association (AAA) - Worked with AAA on two separate project, one to increase membership among non-tenured and international professor and another to redesign its membership fee structure in order to attract new members while also increasing revenues.
  • Stuart Hall School - Constructed a marketing plan with the aim of increasing student enrollment.
  • Lexington Lacrosse - Designed applications for and marketed lacrosse tournaments, devised ways to raise money and procure equipment donations, and crafted strategies to increase participation in the program.
  • Bed & Breakfast at Riders Rest - Researched the viability of starting a motorcycle rental program for groups interested in motorcycle tours.
  • Healthy Foods Co-op - Provided a strategic audit of the operations of a Lexington-based community cooperative.
  • Rockbridge Area Relief Association (RARA) Food Pantry - Located an affordable truck which the Pantry could use to transport food.
  • 4 Swim - Developed operational cost projections used to gain city and county approval for a new Lexington-based training and therapeutic swimming facility.
  • Project Horizon - Conducted a human resources audit of a not-for-profit dedicated to addressing and eliminating domestic violence in Rockbridge County.
  • Rockbridge Area Recreation Organization - Distributed and analyzed a community survey to identify highest priority recreational program and facility needs for the Rockbridge County youth sports program.
  • Virginia Horse Center - Created marketing materials for a local therapeutic riding program.
  • TerraFertil - Developed a U.S. market entry strategy for a South American producer of organic food products.
  • Brain, Child - Provided a new accounting system for national magazine targeting "thinking mothers."
  • Fun Foods - Constructed a marketing plan for a Lexington boutique retailer to develop the local college student market.
  • Adams National Historical Park - Developed a fund raising plan for the not-for-profit which supports the ANHP in Quincy, MA
  • University of Virginia Men's Crew - Developed a fun raising plan for the men's club crew program at UVA.
  • TIDE Tours - Crafted a marketing plan focused on the U.S. college and university study abroad segment for a Belizean ecotourism NGO.
  • Angler's Lane - Provided a marketing plan for a Lynchburg, VA based retailer targeting fly fisherman and other outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Theater at Lime Kiln - Completed a market analysis and plan for a local outdoor live theater and music venue.
  • McCorkle's Hallmark - Developed a marketing plan for a Hallmark franchisee in Lexington.
