Ge Bai Assistant Professor of Accounting
Professor Bai joined the Williams School faculty in July 2012 after earning her Ph.D. in Accounting from Michigan State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
Professor Bai's research interests include accounting issues related to governance, decision-making, and reporting as well as health care cost, finance, and quality. Her research articles have been published in Health Affairs, the Journal of Management Accounting Research, the Journal of Business Ethics, Decision Sciences, and the American Journal of Medical Quality, among others. Her research has been reported by over 500 national and regional media outlets and used as testimony before the House Ways & Means Committee. She received the American Accounting Association/Grant Thornton Doctoral Dissertation Award in 2011, the Institute of Management Accountants Research Foundation Emerging Scholar Manuscript Award in 2014, and the Journal of Management Accounting Research Best Paper Award in 2014. She is currently serving on the editorial board of the Journal of Management Accounting Research.
Professor Bai lives with her husband, Dr. Jianbo Liu, and their son, Winfred, in Lexington.
