Jason has been at Washington and Lee University since 2005 having served as Assistant Dean for First-Year Experience, Director of Campus Activities and Leadership Development and Director of Student Activities and Greek Life. He has a J. D. and Masters of Higher Education from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Hanover College, with a major in Communication and minor in Business Management. Jason is involved with the local YMCA and Lexington-Rockbridge Jaycees.
As Assistant Dean for First-Year Experience, Jason serves as the primary resource for new undergraduate students from the time they commit to attending W&L to the time they begin their Sophomore year. Responsibilities include coordinating summer communication, Leading Edge pre-orientation trips, FY housing, orientation week, academic advising, peer tutoring, First-Year Leadership Council (FYLC), extended orientation, Phi Eta Sigma honor society and other services and support for First-Years in furtherance of the University mission. Jason is also an investigator for the Student Faculty Hearing Board (SFHB) which hears cases of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and hazing.
