Amy’s residence life responsibilities include overall leadership and management of the upper division housing operation at Washington and Lee.  In support of W&L’s student self-governance model, Amy advises a student leadership team of 40 plus resident advisers, responsible for creating community within the residence halls/buildings. Amy also assists with the planning and coordination of comprehensive residential renovations and new construction projects on campus.  In addition to her residence life responsibilities, Amy co-advises the Panhellenic Council, working to support women’s Greek life initiatives, recruitment, and developmental programming.  She also serves as the primary point of contact for Greek house directors, house corporations, and our Alumni Greek Council.

Originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Amy completed her undergraduate work at Roanoke College.  After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Amy gained professional experience in the field of legal services before enrolling in Virginia Tech’s Higher Education program.  While earning her Master of Arts in Education, Amy worked as a graduate assistant for Student Conduct at Virginia Tech.  She also completed graduate internships at Virginia Tech and the University of Florida, and worked professionally for two years in Washington and Lee’s Career Development office before joining the Student Affairs staff in the summer of 2013. 

Her organization memberships include the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I), American College Personnel Association (ACPA), and the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA).
