Please Mark Your Calendar for June 22 at 7pm EST for Summer Advising and Registration June 16, 2023

FYs,

Please plan to attend at this Zoom link on Thursday, June 22 at 7pm EST where we will explain the summer advising and registration process in detail. A recording will be placed online under FY Correspondence on the FYE Website after the event for anyone unable to attend.

Summer registration advisers will contact you and meet with you virtually in early July as you fill out a registration preference form by July 17. The University will create your schedule in a way that optimizes preferences and fairness. In late-August you will receive both your initial faculty adviser assignment and fall course schedule.

Please go ahead and complete placement testing if necessary. The guidance for all world languages offered at W&L is at https://my.wlu.edu/global-discovery-laboratories/testing-and-placement-testing/placement-testing. If you wish to continue a language you have taken previously, you will need to do a placement test - otherwise, you do not need to do a world language placement test. The guidance for math is at https://my.wlu.edu/mathematics-department/information-for-first-year-students. If you have completed at least a half-year of calculus AND have NOT taken either of the AP calculus exams (Calculus AB or BC) AND do NOT have IB credit or calculus transfer credit AND wish to be placed in a higher calculus course, then you should take the placement test - otherwise, you do not need to do a math placement test.

Thank you,

FYE Team
