Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the Campus Kitchen?

The Campus Kitchen is located in the Global Service House at 106 Lee Avenue. CKWL is in the basement level, accessible from the back.

What should I wear to a cooking shift?

Please wear closed toed shoes, and a shirt with sleeves (no tank tops). You have the option of bringing a baseball cap if you prefer not to wear a hairnet.

Do I need training beforehand?

No previous training is required. Your shift leader will tell you everything you need to know about the cooking, recovery or delivery shift you're going on. If it's your first time working with Campus Kitchen you should plan to be a few minutes early to the shift to fill out a volunteer information and release form.

How do I sign up?

Sign up on GivePulse!

Can I come to a shift if I haven't signed up?

Our shifts fill up quickly, so we prefer to know in advance that you're coming. If you would like to be added to our on-call volunteer list email campuskitchen@wlu.edu to let us know!

How can I get more involved with the Campus Kitchen?

First try volunteering at a variety of shifts.  If you like what you see, consider applying for the student leadership team.
