Second Annual Filmed Student Showcase: SOLO2 presented by the Washington and Lee Department of Theater, Dance and Film Studies

Washington and Lee Department of Theater and Dance presents the Second Annual Filmed Student Showcase, SOLO2. Talented student actors are featured in a filmed version of the showcase performances which will be presented at Washington and Lee's Stackhouse Movie Theater on Tuesday, March 31 at 7 p.m.

Our student actors in SOLO2 include Connor Chess ’17, Caroline Crichlow-Ball ’15, Caroline Hardin ’15, Nick Lehotsky ’15, and Eric Utomo ’15.  Our student film editors are Laura Lavette ’17, Noelani Schulmeyer ’17 and Kiki Spiezio ’17.

To create SOLO2, five student actors developed individual performance pieces for the movie and three student’s interested in film production worked on digitally editing the film. The individual student performances, which range from the funny to the tragic were filmed in various locations on campus.  SOLO2 was a digital film project for the one credit course Film Performance Laboratory, FILM 109, taught by professor Joseph Martinez. The course is again being offered in the Fall for anyone interested in digital film production.

Tickets are not required, but the Stackhouse Theater has limited seating, so be sure to get there early. Who knows? You might be seeing a new movie star in the making!
