Schubertiade

The tradition of the Schubertiade dates back to Franz Schubert’s lifetime when friends and patrons would sponsor intimate gatherings in the salon of a private home to celebrate the music of this giant of the Romantic Era. Many of his 600-plus songs were premiered at such events. The voice students and faculty will continue this tradition in our own “salon,” the living room of the Elrod Commons.
