Emily Cargill Contemporary Modern Masterclass

Emily Cargill recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia, from Jacksonville, Florida, where she was the Co-Artistic Director of Braided Light Dance Project. While in Florida, she was an Artist in Residence with BLDP and a choreographer and dancer with Jacksonville Dance Theatre. This season, Cargill's Atlanta-based company, ECD (Emily Cargill and Dancers), is premiering work all over the east coast, her work being accepted to the New Grounds Dance Festival, New Seeds Festival, OneSpark Festival, Modern Atlanta Dance Festival, Detroit Dance City Festival and the NYC10 Dance Festival in NYC. In addition, she dances with the Atlanta-based modern dance company, Staibdance, with whom she has the honor of performing and choreographing with, in venues all over Atlanta, as well as Houston’s Big Range Dance Festival, and an international performance in Sorrento, Italy. Last June, she was chosen as the Choreographer in Residence at the 2013 Florida Dance Festival, where her piece, they didn't want to premiered. Her work has commissioned by the Florida Dance Festival, Moving Current Dance Collective, Braided Light Dance Project, Jacksonville Dance Theater, Staibdance, the Atlanta Ballet, the MAD Festival, NYC 10 Dance Festival, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Kennesaw State University, and Georgia College and State University. Cargill has her MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Florida State University
