Employee Fitness Resources
Washington and Lee offers a variety of fitness options for faculty and staff. From free fitness center memberships for employees and their families, to outing club equipment and trips, to group fitness classes, there are opportunities for everyone, regardless of current fitness level or area of interest.
Use of the Warner Center is open to all members of the W&L community. This includes the Fitness Center and weight room, locker rooms; Doremus Gymnasium; equipment desk, Cy Twombly Pool; handball, racquetball, and squash courts; and indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Personal fitness assessments and group exercise classes are also available.
W&L athletic events are free and open to the public except for select NCAA tournaments. Employees and their families are welcome and encouraged to come out and support our teams!

The Outing Club
The W&L Outing Club offers students, faculty, and staff a variety of outdoor activities and classes. W&L students lead most of the activities, which include backpacking, fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, skiing, and outdoor cooking. Trips vary in length from day hikes to ten-day trips held during February and Spring break. Equipment and trip planning resources are available W&L employees who want to create their own trips.
Faculty and staff often field intramural teams to compete with W&L students in a variety of sports. For more information, visit the Campus Recreation site.
Group Exercise Classes
Group exercise classes are open to W&L employees and their families for a nominal fee. Classes include Sport Circuit, Zumba, Cardio Kickboxing, Strengthg and Toning, Pilates, Group Cycling, Yoga and more. For more information, visit the Campus Recreation site.
