Care Exchange™ is a service designed around trading care. Rather than searching for paid care-givers, Care Exchange refers families needing similar services to each other. This allows a single family to trade off services with another, so that one family to take care of another family's children and to receive care for their own children.
Care Co-Ops are also based around trading care, but are for larger groups of families. Hours of child care are given "point" values instead of currency, and points are traded between members of the Co-Op for child care services rendered. Rules are defined in a "charter" between the families beforehand, and the Co-Ops are managed by an administrator on Care.com. Questions? Visit Child Care Co-ops 101.
