Curriculum Vitae

Renée M. E. Pratt, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at Washington and Lee University in the Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics in the Business Administration Department. She currently teaches courses in management information systems (MIS), ecommerce, computer forensics and health information technology. She has several years experience working with government and private sector businesses/organizations in the information systems field, specifically in the design and development of intranets, extranets and websites using an excellent combination of creative and technological skills.

Dr. Pratt completed her doctorate in the Management Information Systems Department in the College of Business at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. She received an M.S. in Management Information Systems from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Dr. Pratt is a 2012-13 Fulbright Grant Scholar Award winner. She recently completed a semester conducting research on the implementation and post-adoption processes of electronic health information systems under a Fulbright Scholar Grant in Germany during the first half of 2013.

Her research interests include post-adoption diffusion behaviors, psychological contract, traditional and clinical enterprise systems, healthcare IT, and psychological contract. She has presented her work at numerous academic conferences and published in several outlets. Her research has appeared in MIS Quarterly Executive, Information Systems Journal, Cutter IT Journal, Journal of Information Technology, Information Systems Journal of Education, and Business Horizons Journal, among others.

Dr. Pratt is an active participant in the MIS community. She volunteers and participates at several conferences and in the past, has held several offices in The PhD Project Information Systems Doctoral Student Association (ISDSA). She continues to be a proud alumni/supporter of The PhD Project. She is also a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Academy of Management Organizational Communications and Information Systems (OCIS), and the Special Interest Group of Adoption and Diffusion of Information Technology (SIGADIT).

Beyond her research and teaching communities, Dr. Pratt enjoys working and interacting with others. She is the current co-advisor for the W&L Student Association for Black Unity (SABU), a member of the University Committee on Inclusiveness and Campus Climate (UCICC), a faculty advisor to The PhD Project ISDSA and provides IT consulting for businesses.

An investigation of the successes in Germany's healthcare information systems model: Exploring (1) way(s) in which current models and methods is(are) used to assess post-adoption success of enterprise systems that are applicable to assessing post-adoption success of clinical enterprise systems (i.e. EHR) and (2) comparison(s) among EHR post-adoption behaviors and post-adoption behaviors associated with traditional enterprise systems in non-healthcare settings.
