Chris Handy Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics
Professor Handy joined Washington and Lee in 2013 after completing his Ph.D. at Cornell University. He currently teaches Principles of Macroeconomics and Applied Statistics and has experience as a teaching assistant in courses on labor economics, development economics, applied econometrics, and mathematical economics. His dissertation studied the the recent increase in the volatility of workers' earnings over time in the U.S., and his ongoing research interests are focused on trends in the U.S. labor market such as the gender gap in education attainment and declining intergenerational income mobility.
