Megan is responsible for the development and management of student affairs programming for undergraduate sophomores and second-year transfer students. In support of Washington and Lee’s student self-governance model, Megan often collaborates with the Executive Committee’s sophomore class representatives and various other campus leaders. Megan also advises and offers resource referrals to students seeking additional support during their sophomore year.
In addition to her work with the sophomore class, Megan is the primary campus resource for student leadership development programs. Megan advises the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Team, plans the annual LEAD Banquet, and works closely with multiple departments, select faculty, and visiting alumna to host the biennial Women’s Leadership Summit. With a campus wide leadership program still young in its development, much of Megan’s work includes building partnerships and connections across the university to cultivate leadership education and best practices at an institutional level. Megan is also a trained facilitator of W&L’s Bringing in the Bystander program and often assists with the student development and/or leadership portions of Residence Life training.
Previously the adviser to all of Greek life, Megan continues to serve as the primary contact for Black Greek life and a co-adviser to W&L’s Panhellenic Council. In this role, Megan partners with the other council advisers to support Greek life initiatives, recruitment, and a variety of student-led Greek life programs.
Megan is originally from New Jersey but found herself south bound for college and has remained below the Mason Dixon line since. She is a proud alumna of Elon University and credits her undergraduate experience for much of her drive to become a professional in Student Affairs. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications and Business, Megan continued her education at James Madison University. While enrolled in the College Student Personnel Administration program, she gained two years of experience in student conduct, working as a graduate assistant in the Office of Judicial Affairs (now the Office of Student Accountability & Restorative Practices). Before completing her Master of Education, she also completed an internship at Shenandoah University, working on a multitude of projects for the Associate Vice President for Student Development, Vice President for Student Life, and University President.
Megan’s organization memberships include the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I), and the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA).
