Passover at the E. Café
Passover is a holiday that mandates our complete involvement, not just during its eight days but also beforehand. Aside from the regular holiday obligations, we are also commanded (Exodus 13:3-7): "No leaven shall be eaten . . . for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread . . . and no leaven shall be seen of yours [in your possession]."
We accomplish this by cleaning and inspecting our homes before Passover, and eliminating chametz (leavened products derived from wheat, barley, oat, spelt or rye) from every room and crevice. This intensive cleaning takes place in Jewish homes throughout the world.
The E. Cafe will be closed for cleaning on Monday, March 25, and will re-open March 26th. March 26 - April 2 the E.Cafe will only serve unleavened products.
The E. Cafe menu for Passover is as follows:
- COFFEE, SMOOTHIES and TEAS
- BAKED POTATO BAR
- SPINACH CASSEROLE
- GREEK SALAD
- FRESH FRUIT SALAD
- HOMEMADE VEGETARIAN CHILI
