Social Media

The Communications Office oversees the University's official social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo and Livestream, as well as wluLex, a student-led social media team that maintains separate presences geared toward current and prospective students on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Spotify under the handle @wluLex.

Our team also provides an overall social media strategy for the University, maintains the social media directory and serves as a resource for social media users on campus. In 2012 we created the Social Media Managers group, which meets regularly to share ideas, inspiration and best practices from across campus and around the web and maintains an ongoing dialogue between meetings.

Social Media Managers' Group

W&L's Social Media Managers group meets regularly to discuss ideas, best practices and innovations in social media. Coordinated by the Social Media Marketing Manager in the Communications Office, the group is open to all faculty and staff who manage social media accounts on behalf of the University's academic and administrative departments and extracurricular organizations.

wluLex

Students on wluLex, Washington and Lee University's social media team, represent W&L in a public role on W&L's main social networks. Members of @wluLex manage Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Spotify account handles specifically designed for the W&L community in Lexington. @wluLex also works with the Digital Engagement Manager to help develop social media strategy, contribute content and generate interaction on social media.
