Lorri Olan joined Career Development in 2013 and helps students develop job search and professional development skills. Lorri assists students from all majors with all phases of career development, from self-assessment, career exploration and networking, to preparing internship and job application materials and acing the interview. Lorri also advises students interested in attending law school and assists with the application and selection process. Prior to joining Career Development, she served as Director of Career Planning and Professional Development at W&L Law and lived in Florence, Italy with her family. Lorri served as a permanent clerk for two judges on the Court of Appeals of Virginia, as Executive Director of Project Horizon, a rural domestic violence and sexual assault agency, as a trial court law clerk in Boston and as a Legal Assistant in New York City. Lorri is admitted to the bar in NY, MA and VA and is MBTI and Strong certified.
A native of New York City, Lorri obtained her JD from Northeastern University School of Law and her BA from Oberlin College. She is President-Elect of the Alumni Association at Oberlin College. Lorri has presented at national conferences (for NALP and Equal Justice Works) and published several articles on working with GLBT students as well as those interested in nontraditional legal and public interest careers and clerking. Lorri and her husband, George Bent, live in Lexington and have three children.
