Barry Machado, emeritus professor of history at Washington and Lee University, lectured on "Vietnam: An Overview" at the W&L Alumni College program, "Vietnam: A Retrospective," on June 28, 2009.
Machado, who specialized in modern United States history during his W&L teaching career, provided the first lecture in the weeklong program that not only examined the history of the war but also explored its consequences.
