Search for internships and jobs?

There are many jobs and internships available, but finding them can prove to be challenging, and sometimes overwhelming.  Career Services is here to help you, whether you are a freshman or senior and whether you are searching for an internship, externship, research position, volunteer experience, summer job, or full-time work. 

As you begin to look for opportunities you will likely rely heavily on online resources and networking.  This page lists resources provided by Career Services, including databases, opportunities to attend off-campus interviewing days, and online resources that we subscribe to for your benefit.  In addition to using these resources, consider going directly to company web sites and sharing your interests and goals with individuals in your personal network, which consists of family and friends.  Did you know that you have access to Colonnade Connections, W&L's online alumni network?  This is a great networking tool, and many students have shared success stories in which they found work through a W&L alumnus. 

Using a combination of databases, networking, and the assistance of Career Services should land you an exciting position.  Start looking at our resources, and contact our office for help with your resume, your search, and preparing for interviews!  

  • W&L JobLink (Student Login)
    W&L's primary career database, including all on-campus recruiting for jobs and internships, as well as nationwide job postings. Log in with W&L username and password.
  • Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN)
    Database of jobs and internships posted to the 30 selective liberal arts schools in this consortium. Go to "Forgot Password" and use your W&L email address to get started.
  • CAREER15
    CAREER15 is a unique resource of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC) that connects students and graduates of 15 private Virginia colleges with top-tier corporations looking for interns and employees.
  • Job & Internship Opportunities and Resources (W&L)
    Career Services subscribes to these resources for use by current W&L students only. Follow this link for login information. Alumni have access to some resources. Please call Career Services, 540.458.8595, with questions!
  • Job & Internship Opportunities and Resources (Public)
    Web sites with information on a variety of job and internship programs. These are public sites available to all students and alumni.
  • Leyburn Library Internship Resources
    W&L's Leyburn Library has a number of resources listed on its website to help identify internship opportunities, particularly in politics, journalism, and related fields.
  • Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC)
    SLAC offers regional interviewing days held once a year in Chicago, Boston, New York, and DC.
  • OneWire
    Search for positions in I.banking, private equity, accounting, operations, asset management and sales & trading.
  • W&L Opportunities
    Internship opportunities available through various W&L departments.
  • Student Summer Experience Data (2009)
    Start your internship search by networking with other W&L students. See where your peers have spent their summers and talk to them about the application process and their experiences.
